The Port of Hundested – service port for the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm
A new offshore wind farm will be completed by 2027 northeast of the island of Hesselø, in Halsnæs Municipality. A service port is needed during the construction and operation phases, for which the Port of Hundested is ideal.
The port is a modern commercial facility, with a mix of industries within service, freight, traffic, shipping, fishing, tourism and industry. It already has all the necessary facilities, and is used to handling large-scale, complex and constantly changing demands. It’s also capable of taking ships with a draught of up to 7.9 metres. The port is ISPS-approved, and has a wide range of services.
A number of working vessels already use the port in connection with surveys and investigations for the wind farm. When the construction work and actual operation start, the facilities of the service port will be familiar, if Hundested is chosen.
